New on Netflix: Interstellar, Moonrise Kingdom, Gotham: Season 1

netflixinterstellar

It’s been kind of a quiet month for Netflix without any major Netflix original series premieres, but there are still a few interesting recent additions that might be worth checking out. In the U.S., the biggest additions are Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children and Stephen Frears’ Philomena plus one of Albert Maysles’ final docs Iris and Quentin Dupieux’s latest surrealist comedy Reality. Canadians are lucky enough to get Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic Interstellar plus Gabe Polsky’s hockey documentary Red Army and Olivier Assayas’ Clouds of Sils Maria. Both regions get the documentary Keith Richards: Under the Influence and the first season of Gotham. Will you be adding anything to your queue? Check out the full list of new additions after the jump.

Around the Web:

  • Did you read about Netflix’ expiring deal with Epix? Every title from MGM, Paramount and Lionsgate will be leaving Netflix US on October 1. http://variety.com/2015/digital/news/netflix-epix-deal-expiring-1201581520/ I don’t care that stuff like Interstellar, Wolf of Wall Street, Hunger Games, Transformers and so on won’t be available on Netflix in the foreseeable future but it’s kind of sad to see so many classics go. Don’t sure though if this affects Canada or other Netflix regions.

  • Sean

Yeah, Hulu picked up what Netflix lost apparently. Not sure if it will affect Netflix Canada though.

  • Deven Science

I was excited to see Interstellar on there… until I saw that it was Canada only. Damn. Nothing this month to add to the queue.

  • Strybeck

They turned that horse f**king documentary “Zoo” into a series?!
