Let’s Be Cops Red Band Trailer

With the success of both Neighbors and 22 Jump Street so far this summer, it’s looking like audiences still can’t get enough R-rated comedies (Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West notwithstanding). With that in mind, one upcoming comedy that could end up being a sleeper hit later this summer is Let’s Be Cops starring Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. It may not have the star power of the aforementioned films, but the simple, straightforward premise seems like it has a lot of potential.

The story revolves around two guys who dress as police officers for a costume party and find that the fake badges earn them some respect. They decide to take it a step further, only to end up getting caught in the crossfire between real cops and a gang of dangerous mobsters. I think it could be funny, although it also happens to be directed by the guy who did The Animal starring Rob Schneider, so hey, what do I know? Let’s Be Cops hits theatres on Aug. 15th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

  • Looks like they have chemistry, thought it looked funny except for the bad guy plot stuff, that feels out of place
