Lars Von Trier appears to be up to his old tricks again with his upcoming film Nymphomaniac, alternately challenging and intriguing audiences. The movie stars Charlotte Gainsbourg as a sex addict who “recounts her erotic experiences to the man who saved her after a beating” and it will be divided up into eight chapters across two films. The first is expected to hit theatres later this year (almost certainly at a handful of film festivals), although a U.S. theatrical release date has not yet been announced.
The marketing campaign is starting to ramp up, however, and this week we have been treated to the first clip from the film. It features Stacy Martin playing a younger version of Gainsbourg’s character, who is being taught how to seduce two boys on a train by Sophie Kennedy Clark. The cast also includes Shia LaBeouf, Stellan Skarsgård, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman and Willem Dafoe. Are you ready for Nymphomaniac?
