Ridley Scott’s The Counselor Teaser Trailer Starring Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt

Say what you will about Ridley Scott and his somewhat inconsistent filmography, but I admire the man’s versatility and always look forward to seeing what he will decide to tackle next. This time around he is teaming up with Cormac McCarthy (The Road, No Country for Old Men), who has written his first original screenplay. The movie is called The Counselor (The Counsellor in the U.K.) and it stars Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem and John Leguizamo. Interested?

The story revolves around a lawyer (Fassbender) who wants to get rich to impress his fiancee (Cruz), so he gets involved in a drug smuggling operation. He soon finds himself in over his head and “things become darker, more violent and more sexually disturbing than the Counselor has ever imagined.” Yikes. The first teaser trailer has arrived online and it looks pretty fantastic if you ask me. The Counselor hits theatres on Oct. 25th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Looks like it could be amazing. Had no idea this flick even existed – my top 5 director and top 5 author collaborating on an original action drama? I’m so popping on this. Thanks for posting…

Anything Scott/Fassbender and I am in it to win it. Can’t wait.
