The Movie Club Podcast Episode #26: Another Earth, Bellflower and Mr. Nobody

The Movie Club Podcast is an irregular roundtable podcast where we select two movies to dissect, analyze and discuss with a group of fellow movie bloggers and film fans.

Hey, what do you know? The latest episode of The Movie Club Podcast happened pretty much on schedule for once and manages to bring together three relatively recent, very divisive films for a triple-header of epic proportions. This time around we gather to discuss Mike Cahill’s sci-fi romance Another Earth, Evan Glodell’s apocalyptic love story Bellflower and Jaco Van Dormael’s philosophical sci-fi spectacle Mr. Nobody. (Warning: this podcast will force your mind to contemplate quantum physics and re-evaluate the entire space-time continuum.)

Jay was in attendance to represent Film Junk, along with Kurt and Andrew from Row Three and Matthew Price from Mamo. Head over to The Movie Club Podcast website to check out the episode and then feel free to offer your own interpretations of these heavily debated movies in the comments over there. The next episode will tackle David Cronenberg’s Naked Lunch and Michael Winterbottom’s Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story.

Whoa. They found the three people that liked Mr. Nobody and put them on the same podcast.

  • Filmjunk and Mamo are my two favorite film podcasts, so this is the dream team for me.

OH HELLL YES. The Mr Nobody FJ episode was a classic. I am so ready for this.

The worlds of Mamo and Filmjunk finally collide. I wonder if Jay or Matt have listened to each other’s podcast? I’m guessing no.

Surprised nobody brought up Brit Marling’s lazy eye.
