Weekly Poll Results: Best Tony Scott Movie

Despite having a handful of classics in his filmography, last week’s poll wasn’t much of a contest as True Romance easily topped the list of Tony Scott films with almost 40% of the votes. While I can’t really argue with the results, somehow it does feel a little disappointing knowing that the movie won largely because of Quentin Tarantino’s script. Iconic ’80s blockbuster Top Gun came in second with 16% of the votes while Crimson Tide and Man on Fire were extremely close at #3 and #4 respectively. The Last Boy Scout rounded out the top 5. On the flip side, Deja Vu and Days of Thunder tied for last place, although in this case I don’t think there are any real losers on the list. Do you agree with these results?

1. True Romance — 37.9%
2. Top Gun — 16%
3. Crimson Tide — 14.2%
4. Man on Fire — 14%
5. The Last Boy Scout — 7.9%
6. Enemy of the State — 4.7%
7. Unstoppable — 1.6%
8. Domino — 1.4%
9. Deja Vu — 1.2%
9. Days of Thunder — 1.2%

People need to revisit Deja Vu, because it’s an absolute blast.

  • Anthony

Enemy of the State is so underrated it’s painful.

  • Aaron

Yes, True Romance has that signature Tarantino script, but the movie is undeniably Scott’s. Always appreciated the tip-of-the-hat to the Badlands score used throughout the movie.

Maybe I’m just wierd, but I (and my husband) love Spy Game.
(And I’m not a Brad Pitt fan either.)

True Romance is great but Man on Fire is my favorite. The visual cinematographic style and storyline are why. Enemy of the State is action-packed. So 1st Man on Fire, 2nd True Romance, 3rd Enemy of the State, 4th Deja Vu, 5th Top Gun
