Film Junk Poll: What is the Best Spike Lee Movie?

With Spike Lee’s latest film Red Hook Summer hitting select theatres this weekend, it marks his return to Brooklyn as a setting and also his first time acting in one of his own movies since 1999. He has been jumping between TV, documentaries and a couple of bigger budget films over the past decade, and some might say he hasn’t been at the top of his game as of late. Then again, it would be hard for anyone to top some of the films he made early on in his career. Always a controversial figure, many of his most well-known works have just as many critics as they do supporters. I think it’s time we settled the debate once and for all! What is Spike Lee’s best movie to date? Cast your vote in this week’s poll and then sound off in the comments below.

“When the Levees Broke” is awesome. Excellent companion piece to Treme.

  • Levees affected me deeply. Malcom X was entertaining. Never made it through any of his other work, except Miracle, which was only okay.
