I notice a lack of Dark Souls were you not ready to die Frank?

  • La Menthe

You still haven’t played Battlefield 3? Yet everytime you play one of the shit-COD-games, one of the shitty 5 games that are all the same.

No wonder no one takes you guys seriously.

Not up on iTunes as of 4:45 Wednesday December 21

  • Not sure what’s up with iTunes but it’s beyond my control. They probably don’t update our feed very often since we only post a new episode once every couple of months. Hopefully it will update soon.

  • Kasper

You’re on fire Sean. If this is what having a baby does to your podcasting, you should have one more often.

  • Kasper

Oh, and right answer Frank. You da fucking man. Crash Bandicoot 1 and 2 are the best platformers ever, period. 3 Is good too, but too many gadgets for my taste. Then CTR came, you know, whatever, driving. Then it all went downhill and all those other fuckers ruined it.

  • Kasper

Guys, regarding Miyamoto. He’s stated himself that he’s trying to let go of all the major franchises like Zelda and Mario, letting other producers take the reign and make the decisions. That was the case with the new Zelda and I think also Mario 3D Land.

What he’d like to do is take on smaller projects where he’s 100% in control and actually does some more game design instead of a boss role leading a gigantic team which has been what he’s done for a long time. The holdback is Nintendo wanting every game to be a Miyamoto production in one way or the other.

  • Kasper

I’m commenting waaaay too much, but, EA did surrender and give PS3-players their free game – and you can get it too, Frank! Read more and get your voucher here:

Lastly… Frank, Santa Monica is actually called SCE Santa Monica and is fully owned and founded by Sony.

  • Awesome! I will listen to this and then post something that I think is funny later.

Thanks for answering my Smash question. I’m pretty shocked that you guys didn’t play that game as much as we did growing up. But then again, I was like 10 or 11 when it came out, so it was one of my first HUGE games to me.

I thought it was a foregone conclusion, but Super Mario 64 is the king. But that little discussion afterwards made me itch for a top five or top ten ranking the Mario games. And if you do this, don’t do worst to best, because obviously Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be number one. Do least favorite to most favorite, as far as how much fun you had, the most time spent, how much it meant to you when it came out, etc…

Thanks again for all these podcasts guys!

In answer to some of Andrews comments on Skyrim. You won´t get killed by the traps if you have more health points, which you get by leveling up.
Also, there are caves with more than two guys in the same room although it´s not that common.
Thirdly, if you are not level 20 or above and you run into an angry giant you´re gonna be sent flying hundreds of yards up in the air with a single hit.

Awesome game, I´m loving it so far.

I hate to be that guy who complains about things in the comments but I have no idea what you guys are talking about when you discuss PC gaming. I prefer playing games on my PC and while if you want to go all out it may be initially expensive you don’t need to upgrade that often. I paid about $1200 US for my PC (that was with monitor and sound system) and it powered through any game I threw at it for four years. The only reason I upgraded earlier this year was because my card burned out after all the years of use. I spent around $400 replacing it with a new card and twice the ram and it’s back to being good to go. Plus I feel like a PC justifies the higher cost because it can do much more than just play games.

Besides the little rant awesome episode and I’m looking forward to hearing all your games of the year.

I absolutely love everyone of Frank’s choices for his top 5 comic book games.

I had Sega’s Comix Zone and even though I could never get very far, I enjoyed the comic book panels look and the action. Good times.

With PCs, these ‘people’ also fail to mention that if you’re really cutting edge with your setup, your hardware will blow the consoles out of the water. You can spend significantly less than suggested and get experiences similar to consoles.

It comes down to the cost of console games being ridiculous, and also the exclusives of each platform. Uncharted, Red Dead, Mario… I won’t play these games even though I’m dying to, but on the other hand I get Blizzard, the best video game company on the god damned face of the earth. So I have to stick with PC.

My issue with PC gaming is that it’s much more difficult to play multiplayer in person, which is one of my favorite things to do. I don’t want to ask my friends to bring their laptops over and play together, I’ll just hand them a controller and play on my Wii or 360. The cost is another big factor, but that first one is an issue with me.
