Movie Poster Round-Up: The Dark Knight Rises, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, The Thing

With teaser trailers for both The Dark Knight Rises and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows expected to accompany Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 to theatres this week, we’ve also been given our very first posters for both WB films. The Dark Knight Rises one looks awfully familiar… let’s just call it a mash-up of previous artwork for both The Dark Knight and Inception. It would seem to indicate that Gotham City is crumbling now that Batman has become a fugitive.

Other new one sheets in this week’s round-up include a fresh poster for The Muppets, a teaser poster for Pixar’s Brave, and a series of character posters for Fright Night. Perhaps the most perplexing of all is the first poster for Paolo Sorrentino’s This Must Be the Place, which stars Sean Penn as a retired rock star. Which one is your favourite? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

The Thing is one of my fav Carpenter flicks and i hope that they dont ruin it.
As for the Sean PEnn flick, it just screams more, what the hell is this one about.

The Dark Knight Rises is the first comic book movie in a long time that I’m very excited for.

  • Rick

I’M SO STOKED THIS WILL BE…WAIT FOR IT….LEGENDARY!!!! THE LAST HARRY POTTER MOVIE FRIDAY(sad!) AND I’M LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A TRAILER FOR SHERLOCK HOLMES AND, AND, BATMAN!!!! OH FUCK YEAH!

  • Napalm

The Fright Night one with the chick looks so badly photoshopped. My God!

TDKR, The Thing and Brave posters look sick! And Sean Penn looks ridiculous as Robert Smith.

  • Henrik

Hate to admit it, but Brave is sorta tickling my testies… If it’s an adventuremovie, I could get excited for it. Let’s hope it won’t be another dull american family movie ;)

Yuck! What’s with all the remakes?! The Dark Knight Rises is badass! The Thing is pretty cool too. You can’t say This Must Be the Place won’t make people interested. Meh on the others. Oh, and everybody knows you don’t spell Neighbor with a ‘u’. Duh!

  • JuanCostrada

    I spell neighbour with a “u”. :p

  • swarez

Dark Knight wins. Final Destination is good as is Brave. It’s a damn shame about Tucker and Dale, great film kicked in the nuts with a weak ass poster. Rest is bleh. Penn poster looks like a drag queen comedy.
