The Movie Club Podcast #16: The Warriors and After Hours

movieclub16

The Movie Club Podcast is a monthly roundtable podcast where we select two movies to dissect, analyze and discuss with a group of fellow movie bloggers and film fans.

It’s a rare occasion when we manage to get together to record The Movie Club Podcast exactly two months after the last episode, but the planets aligned and this week Jay and I were able to sit down with our friends from Row Three and Where the Long Tail Ends to talk about Walter Hill’s The Warriors and Martin Scorsese’s After Hours.

To grab the episode, head over to The Movie Club Podcast website (linked below) and download the MP3, or simply update your feed in iTunes. After you listen, we want to hear your thoughts! Leave your comments at MovieClubPodcast.com, and also cast a vote for the next movie to be featured on an upcoming episode. On the next episode we will be discussing Errol Morris’ The Thin Blue Line and Werner Herzog’s Stroszek.

  • After Hours was as hilarious as it was tense. I look forward to hearing the gang’s impressions on it on my way home from school.

Does anyone know if it’s true that Tim Burton was geared to direct it when it looked like plans with Scorsese were falling through?

I loved what Scorsese did with After Hours, but it would have been really interesting to see what Burton did with it.
