Hilarious Trailers for Sticky Fingaz Hip-Hop Musicals: A Day in the Life and Caught on Tape

Oh my. So now that we’ve come to accept the fact that Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst is a real honest-to-goodness filmmaker, I suppose it makes it a little easier to believe that someone actually gave former Onyx rapper Sticky Fingaz some money to make a few movies as well. Unlike Durst, however, the subject matter of his movies are pretty much exactly what you would expect. The former star of Blade: The Series now has two musicals under his belt (that’s right, I said musicals), both with some pretty impressive cast members to boot.

His first flick, A Day In The Life has apparently been described by someone out there as “the hip-hop Sopranos” and stars Mekhi Phifer, Michael Rapaport, Omar Epps, Robert DeNiro’s adopted daughter Drena, and of course, Sticky himself. It’s actually distributed by Lionsgate Films, although I don’t think it has been released yet. But wait, there’s more! His second feature film is currently in post-production as well, and this one’s called Caught on Tape. It stars Vivica A. Fox, Cedric The Entertainer, and… yep, Sticky Fingaz. Check out both of the trailers below. All I can say is that you’ll be glad you did.

Oh shit. I have a hard time taking this seriously.

  • Hell. Yeah.

I’ve been waiting all my life for a heist musical.

  • Sticky Fingaz was lame as a MC and barely ok as Blade.

At least hip-hoperas are so fail its funny.

  • This looks very bad. Rapping instead of dialogue? It is a nice try, but mafia movies are a dime-a-dozen and this one doesn’t have the chops.

  • I, for one, am sold! Is it right that this reminds me of shakespeare? haha! I’m sorry, is it weird web thursdays now? I just wish someone had called vanilla ice to be a villain in this…

(Also, Cedric the entertainer’s clip sounds like it’s part of a weird sing-a-long porn)

This has got to be the wackest ish I have ever seen and I like most of the actors in it,but goddamn come on now Sticky must’ve threatened all of the actors in it that he would kill all of their momma’s if they didn’t partake and how are they gonna have middle age white guys who clearly never have and should not have rapped their lines.
