Deception Trailer Starring Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor

From the writer of Live Free or Die Hard comes an intriguing thriller with a kick ass cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor, Michelle Williams and Maggie Q. The basic premise is this: a rich but shy accountant (McGregor) is introduced to an underground sex club called “The List” by a lawyer acquaintance of his (Jackman). For a while, things seem too good to be true, but eventually he finds himself dragged into a web of lies after being framed for crimes he didn’t commit.

The trailer for Deception doesn’t really give too much away, except for the fact that it’s sort of a cat and mouse game between McGregor and Jackman, and with two great actors going head to head, I’m pretty much sold. The fact that there is a first-time director at the helm in Marcel Langenegger seems negligible if you ask me, although I do have to wonder why we haven’t heard more about this movie up until now. (It could have something to do with the lame title, although the film was previously known as “The List”, which isn’t much better.) Deception hits theatres on April 25th; check out the trailer below.

  • This trailer is fucking horrible. I think Hugh Jackman is pretty amazing in everything I see him, and I love Ewan McGregor, but this trailer and the title of the movie is completely trying to kill any sort of excitement you could get for this film.

It does smell alot like a concept that they just didn’t know how to market though, so they slap generic bullshit like this together from all over the movie. The one clip where they have taken eachothers looks is pretty funny I think. I’ll probably watch this, but this trailer is a major red flag.

  • Looks like this film has production design by Patricia Von Brandenstein. Total mindfuck.

  • I admit, I’m intrigued. I’m not dying to see this, but I’d like to check it out. Probably on DVD.

  • It looks like another Jackman bomb, in the recent few years he doesn’t seem to be able to get it right, I mean what was Scoop? An abomination and now this looks like a straight to DVD, how many times can you change a name to a movie to try to not let the PR see it and he never seems to do interview much any more. Did you notice he just kind of does pre-taped interview on the entertainment channels and answers questions and that fiasco on the Oscars two years ago. This movie looks bad and the film he just finished with Kidman better be good as the “Wolverine” one he is filming now is passe, no one really is interested in X-Men as the last one was so bad. Didn’t they kill off all the characters Jackman? Please someone the cancelled his series Viva McLaughlin because he is passe, get a new agent and start all over again, please.
