Batman Works For The KGB?

This next post is a little bit off the beaten path, but I thought it was intriguing enough to make it worth sharing. You may have heard of Mark Millar’s Elseworlds comic book mini-series Superman: Red Son, which re-imagines the Superman story set in the Soviet Union in the 1950’s instead of in Smallville. Well, our friend Jax just sent a link to a BBC news story that inadvertently reveals Russia’s real-life secret weapon to be a different DC hero: Batman! No, seriously, take a look at the photo in the article, and see if you can recognize the symbol that’s been etched into the floor of their defense intelligence HQ in Moscow. How very bizarre. Jax poses the question: is this why Donald Rumsfeld resigned? Hell, if I saw that symbol I’m sure I would too.

Here’s a closer look at the logo for Russia’s Glavnoye Razvedyvatelnoye Upravlenie (GRU) / Main Intelligence Directorate. Man, that is just uncanny.

This is crazy… I have no idea what to think of this. One of the biggest “wtf” moments in recent history.
